2009 Results

Our sincere thanks
A very big thank you to all the competitors, spectators and volunteers for their generous donations, support and enthusiastic participation in the 2009 iiNet Team Sprint Cup.

The afternoon was a great success.

More importantly, the event and the associated coverage on Channel 9 news and Perth's A Current Affair fulfilled an aim of Autism West by increasing the awareness of the challenges faced every day by families with children who are on the Autism Spectrum and the work seeking to be done by Autism West to assist these families.

We are very proud to announce that in excess of $85,000 has been raised for Autism West Support Inc. This is a 60% increase on what was raised in 2008. In the current financial climate we are thrilled with this result.

The monies raised will be applied to subsidise direct services to the families who find it financially difficult to meet the costs associated with support services for their children required to cope with the life long condition of an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Including:
  • Individualised occupational/speech therapy social groups;
  • Provision of ongoing education to Parents; and
  • Provision of support aids for children on the Autism Spectrum.

iiNet Team Sprint Cup Corporate Challenge
Congratulations to Euroz Securities who won the 2009 Corporate Challenge event. Euroz were closely followed by Steinepreis Paganin who took out second place and Sportsfever who came in third.

Congratulations to all our winners and place getters. All results including split times can be found here so why not check out your time and see what you need to beat in 2010.

Battle of the Codes
The Battle of the Codes was once again one of the highlights of the afternoon and attracted a great audience. Congratulation to the Smokefree WA Thundersticks who won the Mens Battle. The West Coast Eagles came in second place, with the Emirates Western Force and Retravision Warriors coming third and fourth respectively.

Congratulations to the WA Gaelic Football team for winning the inaugural Womens Battle. Smokefree WA Diamonds placed second, with West Coast Fever third and the WA Pearls fourth.

We look forward to having all these teams back again next year to challenge the carry over champions!

"Mr Mankini" - Ed Van Beem
A big thank you to the "Mr Mankini" organisers, Frank and Rachel Torre

Everyone who witnessed "Mr Mankini" Ed Van Beem at his revealing best will no doubt agree that he is indeed a man up for a challenge. Ed's outstanding and extraordinary performance raised $10,000. This is clearly an initiative that has the potential for even more participants in 2010. We look forward to more participants taking up the Mankini challenge next year.

Raffle
Congratulations to Alex Gregg who was the winner of the brand new Vmoto 'Matrix' scooter. Again, thanks to all our raffle sponsors, AHG, Tony Sadler's and BarOne.
